Educational Psychology

The Educational Psychologist offers support and advice to children and parents where there is concern about the development and/or behaviour of a child or young person. This will involve assisting children and young people to maximise their potential in relation to learning and educational achievements at all stages of their development.

The Educational Psychologist can:

Use a variety of assessment procedures to clarify the nature of any difficulties;
Develop and implement interventions that will support and develop a child's individual learning needs;
Provide consultation and advice to parents that is based on sound psychological theories and principles;
Where appropriate, undertake curriculum specific tutoring to address individual educational and learning difficulties, particularly in relation to reading and writing.
